Rosemary needs 6 to 8 hours of sunlight, that’s why it is better to keep it outdoors. For the winter season, you have to let rosemary inside your house. For summer, be sure that the plant doesn’t bake or dry out while outdoors. If the temperature reaches the 30s, get the plant inside. If you haven’t completed the 6 to 8 hour sunlight rule, you can use artificial lights. It is the light that is basically important to the plant, not the heat. Growing rosemary can be done all year round, just make sure you’re giving it what it needs.
